Good Juice, Bad Business

Pros

You get a free smoothie for every shift! You learn a lot about nutrients and vitamins. Very clean, very healthy.

Cons

Very chaotically run business. Upper management has no idea what goes on with employees. Middle management tends towards the passive-aggressive. Possible labor violations -- no breaks, no lunch, no chairs, etc. Inconsistent policies regarding the actual process of making the smoothies. Very often, one person will be harshly reprimanded for something (like taking too long to make smoothies) that another employee will continue to do unimpeded. Slightly chauvinistic work atmosphere -- male management hiring and bullying mostly female staff. I personally witnessed managers telling off-color comments about "false" rape accusations of celebrities. Locations can also be chaotic -- the company is very strict about healthiness of preparation (which is good) but I've seen live birds flying around inside stores. High turnover, no room for growth or development. Little training of employees.

Real Good Juice Response

Hi there! Let me begin by saying we do love to educate our team members on local and organic produce! We’re passionate about food and it shows. All team members are also eligible for sales bonuses and a scholarship program. We’re a young business, but we are now offering full-time team members benefits (including medical, dental, 401k, and flex spending.). This review of the company is anonymous, so we can’t say for sure if they were on the Real Good team when we implemented the benefits but we’re proud to say we have them now. Something we believe in and practice is internal promotion and growth. We give our team members and team leadership the opportunity to manage and take ownership of their own locations. Not all team members are able to do this and that’s okay. We understand that being a part of the Real Good team takes a certain amount of passion and dedication and not everyone is a perfect fit. We believe that we have a very strong team today that is growing and finding success within the company. We’re incredibly proud to have a team of over 120 amazing individuals with Real Good--many of whom have been with the company for several years!
