Pros

Pros: They gave me a 5k voucher on my Bday. The offsite party is nice. Team members were good and helpful. The guy handling Finance is very sweet and always helpful

Cons: Beware and do read this review before joining Recode. • There isn't any diversity and inclusivity in the organization. Work culture is toxic and very clearly favours a handful. • Too much regionalism and bias. They prefer hiring people from a specific region. They would disagree to this but its clear. • The management does not have the empathy factor at all. The yardstick to measure an employees performance is totally grey and opaque with absolutely no transparency on that. Its actually funny that the org does not know how to use an experience resource properly. • They hire and keep people just for the billing. As soon as the billing stops they will fire you no second chances given. They wont even assess you or give you an opportunity to prove yourself, which is just pathetic.. This is to the management we have families to feed too. • They keep giving spot light awards and other similar awards to people they like and in their inner circle not anyone else. • The manager I was reporting to was technically crippled. So it was really difficult and exhausting when I try to explain him any technical complexities. He had no understanding at all, even though he is from the same domain and has 4 years of exp in the same project. For any complex problem he always had the same statement “Everybody is doing complex stuff” he does not even have the technical acumen to understand the complexity of a task and he used to call himself the manager, and funny he appraised me as well :D • My manager had absolutely no clue on who is working on what and was clueless on the complexity of the task. He will keep saying every body is busy and everybody is working on critical tasks. How is that possible? Can an entire team of 15 members always, everyday be working on critical tasks.. is that even possible ? • The client is equally dumb they do not know how to use experience resources to their full potential. They never appreciated out of the box ideas.. • The company believes in quantitative work rather than qualitative work atleast that was the case in my team I worked for the legacy systems. They blatantly glorify long working hours whereas the same amount of work can be done in less time, with smart work. But they don’t appreciate that. If you are taking 14 hrs to do a 4 hr task you are great. As per me you are inefficient. Period. • If somebody is on leave (sick or planned, a leave is a leave) is causally pinged and pulled into calls which is very inappropriate and unprofessional. And surprisingly few were even proud that they are responding and working in their off hours.. Can someone please tell me how is that even cool ? • The reason for this rant is, I had actually worked hard and went that extra mile to get things done and deliver quality code. I agree I made my own share of mistakes in this journey but that is how we learn and grow. The highlight of this company is that the founder says we have not let go of anyone in a town hall whereas I was the one they let go off. When the founder himself lacks integrity then imagine the culture of the company. In short if you do not want to spoil your skillset and turn blunt, please refrain from joining Recode.

Pros

Some chances for growth as company is small and is in developing phase.

Cons

No transparency- the management is not transparent about the policies and employee recognition process is biased. No clear policies - the HR does not provide company policy details on time with employees. Policies are made for company and no focus on Employees. No backup plan - there is no backup plan if there is no client/project . Employees have been asked suddenly to look out for jobs in market due to loss of project.

Pros

Not much as slowly they lost the values on which they started the company.

Cons

I have referred a friend when I was there and he got offer and dropped in current organisation. Now don't know what happened, someone from hr team called and asked him to check for any other opportunities. Very pathetic situation created for a resource. Now he doesn't have any other offer and current organisation is not retaining him. Also he can't join this company after knowing their behaviour. Very stressful situation for him. Like this they slowly loose the cream of their values and ethics. If management encourage people who are really working, would have been good for the employee as well as company, instead they started encouraging people who satisfy higher management ego.
