To our disenchanted Trainer Rx alum: thanks for your honest feedback about our Wrong Turn! My name is Mark. I'm the new CEO here at Trainer. I can't speak to the specific organizational dynamics you cite, but I can tell you seem truly distressed about your experience with us--so upset in fact that I'll admit to having difficulty in comprehending some of your feedback. With that said, let me try to respond to your experience as best I can.... Backbiting, belittling, and lying are examples of behaviors that the current Trainer Rx does not tolerate. Two months ago, we embarked on an organizational journey to build an entirely new culture marked by openness and constructive dissonance (sometimes painfully so!). We are building a sense of team that is highly demanding on task while being exquisitely supportive of each other as people. No doubt it's a process (often a messy one), and we're just getting started. Great companies build high-performance cultures through habituated actions by everyone, and particularly by leaders who personally model the desired behavior. Words mean little on their own. And so, honestly, I'd say the jury is still out out on us. For folks who want to be part of building something great, we're an awesome canvas. For those who want to join a team that is already a finished product, we're probably not a great fit. I agree that our mission is compelling and meaningful--helping people recover from orthopedic injuries on their terms (though it's not really about whether an individual has "no money to spend on rehab"). I also agree that we have lots of work to do in order to build a company that wins through its people and culture. But I disagree that all the good people have left the building. I see some amazing talent every day. I also am proud to report that we have a clear strategy and we are close to having focused execution. We have a strong and supportive institutional investor, and we are a first-mover in our chosen market space. I guess that's a long way of saying, I'd invite you to update your view of what's happening at Trainer Rx! :) Oh, and one last thing -- I am proud that we don't have land lines (non-mobile phones) in our offices. Trainer Rx is a next generation digital health company predicated on transforming the way people recover from musculoskeletal injuries. As far as I can see, we will continue to dispense with trappings of the past (even commonplace ones!) that don't directly contribute to a mobile future for orthopedic events with dramatically better cost and quality. Again, thank you for the feedback. If nothing else, I hope your frustration has opened the door to more open, honest dialogue about what we're trying to get done. We certainly don't have all the answers, but we're wildly excited about the opportunity in front of us. You could even say we've taken a big ol' Left Hand Turn.
