Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear your mixed experience with us. I notice you are still working for us so please feel free to reach out to me confidentially if you wish, I may be able to help? In the meantime I will certainly take a closer look at the reception team to see what I can do there, in case there is any cause for concern, so thank you to alerting me to your experience. Again, I would be very happy to hear from you directly to learn more. Liz

Not so Times Top 100 in reality

Pros

I worked at The Milestone Hotel and can say that had a really good time within the first year of my employment but I felt disappointed afterwards. There are many training opportunities and there is quite good atmosphere in the Hotel. RCH organised many social events for staff which was nice. Having work experience in there definitely looks good on my cv. Some managers are really inspiring. Would recommend working in: Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance

Cons

Salary is really low, just slightly above the minimum wage which is disappointing for a company with this reputation and the level of required standards. Once you get to know everyone and learn politics within the hotel it seems like there is more talking, rather than doing. RCH being no 2 in 'Times Top 100 Companies to work for' doesn't reflect the reality and moods - good PR only. There were loads of issues swept under the carpet, lack of discipline, especially when it comes to senior management. Not that many promotions available as it may look like, Internal vacancy list was never updated and the whole process was just demotivating. Wouldn't recommend working in: Concierge, F&B, Kitchen

Thank you so much for your feedback and it's only when people let us know what they think that we can improve what we do. We believe our salaries are fair and we regularly check this against our competitors. We do promote a lot from within and 90% of our managers are internal recruits which we are very proud about. I take on board all your feedback, positive and negative and thank you for letting us have your opinion. Liz McGivern

Pros

Friendly environment to work, nice work colleagues. It's a nice place to start in the industry and gain experience.

Cons

Salaries way below the market average. Worked lots of unpaid extra hours. Lots of working hours required. Unfair rotas Very poor staff facilities

Thank you for your feedback and we can only improve what we do when we receive information like this. We do strive hard to make the environment friendly, supportive and welcoming and I am sorry that some of your experience wasn't what it should have been. Thank you again and all the best for the future. Liz McGivern
