Pros

Working with games, slow pace might be nice to some people.

Cons

I should say that I was initially very happy to land a job within my area of study. With each passing month, things got worse and worse. The management managed to get my willingness to work hard for the company down to the ground and below. I'm tired, worn down and unhappy to see that what once was the best company I had ever worked at, is now the worst. Not even working with retail was this frustrating. It's disheartening. -------------------------------- The work environment is EXTREMELY hostile and competitive, even if it might not look like that at first. Promotions are a myth, even when every single lead is swamped with work, having to lead three, four, sometimes even five different projects at the same time. Also, considering how employees quit almost entirely because of disrespect from one of their superiors, this should be enough of a backup for this piece. -------------------------------- Employees are not heard, nor are they valued; -------------------------------- Lots of people who suffer from depression are being SEVERELY affected by how the company is ran; -------------------------------- The wages are too low for what should be required (important to note that the workflow is really poor). There are several bilingual telemarketing jobs with a better pay. -------------------------------- The local management barely have a say on company decisions. Instead, they have to wait for the upper management (that is on a different timezone) to respond.

Pros

- One of the few places for people starting in the game industries in São Paulo - Receives known games as projects (both AAA and famous indie titles) - 8 hour work time is respected and overtime is not forced

Cons

- Can't eat anywhere inside the building (so don't pack lunch) - Little money provided for eating lunch in the area - Abusive behavior from managers and the company's owners, including treating employees as idiots, instigating fear to ensure a better "performance" during work, and blaming them for projects going wrong - The environment used to be more friendly, but this was lost recently and is now very stressful and oppressive environment - Payment used to be late every month, and there are situations where employees wouldn't receive their salary in the correct account, and the company would not correct the issue after several months, leading to the employee quitting - Salary for QA Testers and QA Leads are the same

Pros

It is a way to join the games industry. And it is an easy job since you don't really need to be a QA, just play the games. One thing that can't be lied to is that the company has no problems with the LGBT community. And people will be fired if disrespectful to any minority (Unless they are friends with the management).

Cons

Less than half of the company can communicate practically, so management will mostly use passive-aggressive communication (unless you make friends with them to push you up the company ranks. And that's the only career opportunity you'll have). The salary is way too low compared to the market, but other companies will require you to be a real QA. You will only see HR people when someone does something wrong, or when found a way to fire you. Any problems that you have with the company will be ignored or they find a way to hide them. One example of that is Glassdoor reviews, HR people are writing new goods reviews to boost up the score instead of trying to solve the company issues. And everything else will follow that same line. The list goes on, btw.
