Pros

I no longer work at Redbrain

Cons

* no onboarding process and this makes difficult to learn and understand the internal systems; * unclear what is expected from me; * leader of the team is lacking confidence and does not understand how engineering and troubleshooting processes work; * a lot of hands-off research tasks that eat up time but do not have any real use; * the leader of the team constantly argues about everything and demotivates any sharing of ideas; * overcomplicated structure of the code repository. Instead of making things simpler everything was made even more complicated; * the leader of the team demands implementation of unrealistic scenarios and quite often will leave you wondering "Does he know what he is doing?" * the rest of the company feels rather unwelcome. If you are reading this while researching about the company wondering if you should join the company as a platform engineer then answer these simple questions first: * are you scared of making any changes to the existing setup? * do you like working in an environment where every single word of yours is scrutinised and being argued about? * are you about to retire and just need a boring job to keep you going for a few years and happy to spend time researching use cases that don't even have real use in the company? If you answered "yes" to any of the above - look no further, this is your dream job!

Thank you and we appreciate your feedback. Disappointed to hear you were unhappy and felt we could have done better as an organisation. As a fast growing business we don't get everything right but we are trying to improve all the time and one of the tasks we are undertaking currently is a review of onboarding to identify what’s working and what could be improved for new starters, we want to give new team members a warm welcome and introduction to their new roles and all feedback both positive and negative allows us to learn.
