Pros
If I had to think of a pro, the only thing that comes to mind would be the fact that they aren't very reluctant to spend money. If we need new furniture or new equipment, they aren't afraid to spend money. Other than that there are no other pros.
Cons
RedCat are a relatively new company, but they never seem to know what they are doing. The higher management feel like busy fools. The menus they have made standard for all sites are glorified weatherspoons menus at best. We used to be a destination pub with a great hard earnt reputation, but RedCat quickly erased that with their standardisation. We had to stop using our regular local suppliers for big standard national ones. We wernt allowed to do our own specials unless approved. We were forced to change our drinks list to a standard one. The weekly calls we have are scripted with the same asked each week. Never hit our targets as they are completely unreasonable and unachievable. They told us that our pub would be our own business to run ourselves but we have no freedom to do anything. We've been stripped or any personality or charm that would differentiate us from the others. If I want to give a simple pay rise to a waitress, I have to fill a form and get that signed off and approved whereas before I could just do it myself. They want us to operate with bare minimum staffing all the time but don't care that we are always struggling and understaffed, only that we didn't hit our sales target but over spent on labour. Overall, not a nice place to work, and there is 0 work / life balance with the constant emails and admin they want us to do.
