Pros

Customers were fantastic. The tools of the company were almost as good as most of us have at home to play with.

Cons

Management had no actual fiscal or business plan at all. They apparently had zero days of money for float. Screwed every employee out of two weeks pay. Bet that Management got their money though. I see their snowmobiles still out their running! The job you were hired on to do had very little to do with the job you were expected to do. The abilities and skills you had were also ignored in favor of what the daily desire was. If they had no intention of paying, why would they hire people up until the last week? They were interviewing new hires three days before they said they were not paying us, via email.

Fun work, terrible management. Company closed down 31 January 2014.

Pros

Networking with clients. Independence - management rarely interacted with engineers. Engineers interfaced directly with clients.

Cons

Turn-over was insane. Only about 15% of the company had been there longer than a year. The primary criteria the company looked for in new employees was whether or not said employee had a pulse. Sometimes would even hire candidate if he/she didn't. Management appeared to prioritized billable hours over quality work. HQ was in the Middle of Nowhere, WI - email and license servers were spotty at best. Apparent business model was to let the engineers do all of the billable work and interface with clients. Curious what the upper management actually did other than take a paycheck. RedFusion Studios lost the only client that was paying the bills and owner shut down 1/31/14. Notified everyone by email - very classy! This was the owners' second failed attempt at an engineering consulting company. Curious to see whether he tries a third.
