Pros

there are a few dogs running around in the office which is nice but you’re only in the office for an hour every morning

Cons

I want to preface this by saying that I’m not a bitter person who left a job and is being hateful, I never leave company reviews but this redseven business is something else to say the least and I truly believe they’re taking advantage of teenagers in Bristol. This is also probably the only real review that is posted since all the positive reviews here are done by other brand ambassadors who have to sit down with the managers and are told what to write word for word. First off, the job is basically being dropped off at some random village in the UK where you have to go around and knock on strangers’ doors and ask for donations for a charity (it’s very sketchy if they actually work directly with said charity, but we’ll go with that). You’re there all day its a 11-12 hour work shift and you only get paid if you convinced some person at the door to donate to the charity (completely commission based). They’ll try to glamorize this job and avoid mentioning how its all kust knocking on stranger’s doors all day. They have recruiters who are well-trained in spinning the truth and not answering questions directly. Also, the company is run by kids in their teens and early 20’s (I guess its because they’re the easiest to manipulate and don’t need to be paid as much someone who’s older). There is a Manager or CEO who essentially spits out lies every morning and promises incentives that you’ll never get as a new start, also they act like its a privilege that you can get these incentives but they’re literally nothing when you compare it to how much money you’re making this individual who is trying to run this business. I’ve worked at other sales jobs, so I know what I’m talking about when I say that you are better off working somewhere else. I mean, you don’t make any money, you’re exhausted because you’re working 6 days a week with 12 hour shifts and even though you don’t sign a contract so you’re “self-employed” you still get major attitude from the manager when you say that you don’t want to work the full 6 days (like being called lazy) I guess I can understand why this “manager” or CEO would feel this way because these kids are out there making him money all day. To conclude, I want to restate that what I’m writing here is 100% fact and that’s how my colleagues felt too, which is why everyone left. Please, do yourself a favor and don’t consider joining this “company”. You’ll dodge a bullet. I wish we had someone that warned us before we started.

I really do appreciate you taking the time to make your views aware. We completely understand that our business model and the role on offer isn't suitable for everyone but we are approaching our 10th year and have generated a phenomenal amount of money for both commercial brand and especially charities that we represent. You mention in your review that positive reviews have been coerced which under my supervision has never been the case, I have always encouraged our team to write reviews of their time with us because as you said people often don't leave reviews unless they have had an experience that didn't meet their expectations and we want to potential candidates to see both sides. If you were personally encouraged to do a review and someone informed you what to write please let me know who as I want to make sure that I address it as I also want genuine reviews on this page. We are very proud to be a Direct Sales company and this involves campaigns which are residential, visiting peoples homes. The charities we work with have reinvested in this form of fundraising year after year as it is one of their most powerful and cost effective forms of fundraising - we honestly wouldn't do it if it didn't work! You expressed some speculation about our relationship with the charities we represent but this can be verified with the brands themselves if you have any doubt. You mention that there are incentives that you "wouldn't get" - our commission and incentive structure is completely transparent and clear and are achieved by Brand Ambassadors weekly. Having said that if you believe you have not been paid an incentive or any commission that is owed to you please contact me directly at nina@redsevenmarketing.co.uk as I would want to get that rectified in the instance of an error immediately. It's a shame to see a comment in your review referring to some of our team leaders as 'kids' and undermining their ability to be involved in the running of our business. We have an attitude to advancements where you get opportunities to take on more responsibility and be rewarded based on your merit not on your age or how long you have been with the company. If the best sales person in our team is 18 years old why wouldn't we get them sharing their tips with the rest of the team? If that person was 50 we would do the exact same thing. The same with earnings - your earnings reflect the value you bring the the company, not your age or what your CV says you have done in the past. We think this is fair and will continue to keep our model transparent and based on commission for every sales team member. If you wish to get back in contact to give any more detail as to where we perhaps didn't meet your expectations I would be happy to be contacted by email, phone or a face to face meeting if you prefer. Whatever happens I wish you all the best and hope that you find a role that works for you. Nina Collis

Deceiving

Pros

You get to learn about how to NOT do sales

Cons

It is cold-calling, door-to-door sales, and they do not tell you that until you actually start the job. You have to stand up for 8-10h a day, with no breaks, knocking on at least 100 doors, to get at least someone to sign up for whatever you are selling. There is NO SALARY, just commission. Plus the company tries to give you too much "motivation" which is a clear sign of a really bad role role: good roles don't need all that life-coaching BS to motivate you, you just enjoy it.

I am sorry to hear about your less than positive experience with us at RedSeven. I am not sure how you wouldn't have learned about the nature of the role before starting but we would want to understand more about your candidate experience to know how this wasn't clearly explained before being offered a role? Our adverts do state that our Brand Ambassadors earn 100% commission which we appreciate doesn't suit everyone's work or lifestyle but we have many Ambassadors who thrive in this way and earn what they are worth compared to a fixed, restricted amount. I doubt we will stop supporting and encouraging our team as sales, in it's nature, involves rejection and set backs so when someone is relatively new it can help their mentality to prevent them from giving up (similarly to how an athlete has a coach to help them improve). We would really like to hear in more detail where we fell short in your journey with us so please either give us a call or send me an email at nina@redsevenmarketing.co.uk and I would be happy to discuss this with you further and for us to take necessary action to improve.
