Pros

-Excellent leadership, thoughtful, transparent, and deliberate -Growing fast - lots of interesting challenges and plenty of untapped business opportunities -My manager is excellent - cares about supporting and leveling up everyone -People work hard but the culture is one of "we're all on the same team"; - Thoughtful expansion; hiring bar remains high, big emphasis on supporting remote employees

Cons

Growing fast so there's no getting settled into anything; occasional silos within the company.

Pros

Redjack has been a great place to work for me for the past few years. The people and the potential impact being the best parts. The people at Redjack are generally friendly, personable, and fun which contributes to the informal atmosphere. Everyone is approachable if you ever need help or want to ask questions. Another benefit is that because Redjack is a small company, you have the potential to make an impact and gain responsibility quite early on compared to larger companies. You might be tasked to learn a new technology/product on a new technology and become a resident expert on that technology. The work/life balance has been good as well.

Cons

The main cons are common among other small businesses. Mainly, the lack of structure. Specifically, there has historically been little organized on-boarding in terms of getting up to speed with the code base and technologies used and general training. Though this can vary between the commercial product team and government contract team. However Redjack has taken measures to help with that process by hiring a VP of engineering who has been overhauling the on-boarding and developer processes. The training is still a lot more hands on and in-the-field rather than structured courses. Though everyone is available when you do have questions and want someone to explain something. There also exists a yearly per-person training budget that can be used for courses or conferences.
