Pros

Best reasons to work there... they did some company wide events, like company sponsored in-house happy hour every other Friday, during the tax season only. Annual golf outing. Provide meals for employees once a week during busy season (which ended due to COVID, with no sort of replacement for it). They do quality work. Also I loved all of my coworkers, they're seriously the only reason I stuck around as long as I did.

Cons

Where to start... the Company is managed by a lot of older upper level management and partners who are not very forward thinking and don't seem to do well adapting to the new work environment. There is zero transparency in any management decision, they seem to think their employees are dumb. For example, they decided to "incorporate our annual bonuses into our salaries throughout the year" (aka, they were giving us a cost-of-living-adjustment and eliminating bonuses). The staff are incredibly overworked, there is no suck thing as busy season there, it's year round, and if you're lucky you'll get a $5 Subway gift card as a thanks for working on holidays (because - no bonuses for any extra effort you put in). I recently left, on good terms I thought, but have heard that HR and other upper management have been spreading rumors that I said I regretted leaving, in a desperate attempt to get other people to stay. Oh and when we all had to WFH due to COVID, when it came time for our annual salary review, they said they weren't doing any cost of living adjustments because big $ firms cut their employees' pay. So basically it was them saying, yeah we had record breaking profits this year but you don't deserve a raise, just be happy we didn't cut your pay like other firms. I was in a department of 16 and now they're down to 8, and are scrambling to pick up the pieces of their failed management practices.

Pros

Unprofessional management team including Human Resources. You are always replaceable in their eyes. Revolving door. High turnover rates. Toxic environment covered up by free lunch on Tuesdays and free alcohol. Management blames employees for everything. Redpath in their own words do not have the luxury to wait for employees to learn the work. Lack of training. If the managers and partners do not like you, they will pretend you’re not in the room and acknowledge everyone else. Very unprofessional atmosphere.

Cons

They reimburse you for parking downtown St. Paul.

Pros

Excellent place for entry level and even more so interns. Staff is very welcoming to helping new & younger employees learn.

Cons

Stuck in traditional ways - one being that it's still a bit of a "boys club." Want to work from home? Good luck. And let's be honest... preparing taxes is a more than suitable job for a WFH position. Prove that you are most deserving for a promotion/raise? Well it all depends on how long you've been there because it's all about seniority. It's time for an upgrade and become more modern otherwise they'll continue seeing high turnovers with the incoming generations.
