Oh lord where do I even begin? They don't disclose their PTO policy till after you accept a position, which, their PTO policy is you don't start accruing PTO or sick leave till you have been there for a full year. There is absolutely zero consistency with policies and procedures for the company, especially with corporate employees. Everyone seems to say something different when asked about things like remote work or how many hours you should be working, etc. Some corporate employees are allowed to work from home where others in other departments are told that's absolutely not allowed despite our roles having completely computer based tasks and workload. The training is absolutely abysmal, if you can even call it training. I was thrust into a position I had absolutely zero interest in suddenly when my first boss informed me she was leaving the company and they weren't rehiring her position and the person responsible for training was an absolutely miserable woman. Her way of training was talking at me and a new hire while we huddled around her tiny 13" laptop screen as she regularly went off topic and on bigoted and racist tangents about the warehouse staff and how "they don't know anything because they don't speak English". So vile. I suggested to her using zoom while myself and the new hire were in our offices on our computers to make training easier, so we could actually see what she was doing via screen share. This sparked a huge argument that ended with her yelling "just because you want something doesn't mean you can get it!" at me and then slapping my arm and telling me I need to calm down when I tried to stand up for myself. During lunch I saw and overheard her bringing up using zoom for training to one of the other members of leadership as if it was her idea. I also inquired about the possibility of flexible remote work so for example if someone isn't feeling well or has a sick child, or their car is in the shop, etc. they would still be able to work and not have to take unpaid leave or use PTO. This sparked another angry reaction and being told that "no you can't because you aren't management, I can because I'm a manager (plot twist, she isn't and I confirmed that with the newly updated org chart). I'm up here and you all are down here" while motioning with her hands to demonstrate and then proceeds to say how it's all about control and those in management want to control everyone that isn't and don't want people thinking for themselves, they just want people to nod and do exactly as they're told without question. Seriously, this woman let every single red flag in the book fly on day one. Any time I expressed concern or questioned her I'd get slapped in the arm and told to calm down. Disgusting. This woman has absolutely no business being in any sort of position of power. She is very clearly power hungry and will power trip and micromanage you into the ground and also has a very archaic mindset when it comes to workplace culture. The absolute audacity from someone who isn't a manager let alone even a supervisor and has absolutely nobody under her was astounding. This company's lack of protection of personal information was appalling. While looking for image files for products during one of my days at the office I came across several excel files that had EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE'S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS IN IT. Not encrypted, nothing. Just, everyone's SS numbers out in the open for the world to see. Oh, and the icing on the cake was this was on a 13 year old computer running Windows 7 Professional which has not had support or security updates in years, making it an open vault with no guards for any hacker that wished to walk in and take whatever they wanted. Is this the type of company you want to work for? A company that clearly does not give a single care for the protection of your information? Let's see, what's next. Oh! Salary! So, they consider all corporate employees salary, aka exempt, which, when you hear salary you think not needing to adhere to a set schedule or having to fulfill a certain amount of weekly hours and they get paid the same no matter how many hours they work as long as the work gets done, right? And that they have unlimited PTO right? Not with Regency! Oh no, they put a clause in their employee handbook that makes it so they can treat salaried employees as if they're hourly except they don't have to pay overtime because they're exempt. This company is too cheap to actually have properly salaried employees, so they'll exploit people by calling them salaried because it sounds better than "you're actually hourly but we're too cheap to pay overtime" and they probably hope people aren't smart enough to notice. Honestly I could go on and on about the cons of working for this horrendous company but it'd be the size of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Point being, this company does not care about its employees in the slightest. They will use and abuse you and exploit you. If you're thinking about working for this place, run run far away and do not look back. Trust me, it isn't worth it.
I'd also like to point out one of the many lawsuits against Abdul Ayyad and this company. If my review alone hasn't deterred whoever reads this that's considering employment here from actually working here, please take time to search up the lawsuit of Dury-Jenkins vs Abdul Ayyad. It's appalling.
Oh, and if you don't suck up to leadership they immediately put you on their "naughty list" and will do everything in their power to make you miserable and treat you poorly. I had put my two week notice in as I had accepted a job offer for a position with better pay and instead of accepting that I was leaving they fired me for it.
