Pros

entry level position where a new grad can practice skills and assessments. There's plenty opportunity for overtime.

Cons

favoritism, unprofessional management. The location where I worked has had the same management for over 10yrs. They engage in favoritism . The DON has no social tact or professionalism when approaching issues that affect productivity & work life balance. It is not uncommon to be stuck working overtime due to lack of personnel. Low group morale & gossiping is widespread among employees. You are reprimanded for providing feedback or voicing concerns regarding quality of care or safety issues.

Pros

The only reason I can think to work here is to have a temporary paycheck until you can get out as fast as possible.

Cons

Your education/experience are never treated with respect. Your treated as a disposable entity. Corporate personal are threatened by any person showing intelligence. There has been an EXTREMELY high turnover rate of employees at ALL levels for over five years. This includes Administrators, Nurses (D.O.N.'s, A.D.O.N.'s, LVN's, CNA's) secretaries, kitchen staff, house keeping, social workers. There is never support and they refuse to staff enough personnel for each shift. They have even been cited by the state for it. Although it is understood that salaried personnel work over 40 hours regularly, this company sees nothing wrong with expecting you to work 60 to 70 hours without complaint. Get sick, too bad. Have family, or kids, too bad.
