Pros

Nice environment, state if the art equipment.

Cons

I've never experienced such a deceitful workplace. Lies, backstabbing, you name it. The owner is suffering from mental health issues and cannot focus on work. She's all over the place, spies on you and has others do the same. She is not to be trusted.

We appreciate and are open to all feedback, as it helps us grow and improve. The former employee who wrote this review was employed by Relaro for less than one year, and was terminated over a year ago due to unethical and illegal behaviors including stealing from the company. Perhaps this behavior is what led her to feel people were spying on her. The timing of this review coincides with the Texas Unemployment Commission’s determination that she is not eligible for unemployment benefits. Relaro is a young company. We hired our first Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in 2015. We currently have three CRCs who have been on our team since 2015, 2016, and 2017. The most recent CRC to leave our company did so in 2017 to expand her family, and her leaving was on positive terms. She was replaced by our newest team member. Our goal is to continue to grow Relaro with positivity, holding high ethical standards, and to provide the best level of care for our patients. We look forward to adding other team members who share those same goals and values.

Pros

There were no obvious pros except that the compensation was met at the beginning. This pro is short-lived.

Cons

There are no career opportunities once you start, and many things promised were never followed through with. The culture and values set forth in this new company is very confusing. There was no employee handbook provided despite it being in the sign-on letter. The owner of the company is new to managing and leadership. She also has very little experience with being a CRC or working on research studies despite what she may say. She has a staff of 5 or less. The company is only a couple years old. She fired 3 people within 6 months. Along with her toxic personality, she is not able to make decisions and stick with them, or see logical approaches to solving issues. She also promises bonuses when you sign on, but don't ever expect to see anything. There are no benefits, no insurance, no 401K, etc. After 90 days, she will pay you a small amount for insurance that you choose, but its limited. Watch your paycheck as there were instances where people were not paid correctly. She has no regard for respecting the work/life balance. She also enjoys pinning people against each other and watching them compete. She seemed to thrive off drama despite what she may say to the contrary.

This review was posted by an ex-employee who was let go for breach of contract and for bullying another employee. In reference to specific comments: 1. There is definitely career advancement, and three employees so far have received raises within the past 5 months. The employee who posted this worked for our company for less than 3 months and did not prove herself within that time to receive any kind of advancement. 2. The employee handbook was provided to ex-employee. 3. It is a true statement that the owner is new to managing employees. 4. The owner has 20 years of experience in the industry, and has worked as a CRC for a majority of those years. 5. True statement that there are 5 or less employees, and the company is a little less than 3 years old. 6. It is a true statement that 3 people were let go in a short period of time, and this was a result of those people misrepresenting their capabilities, including the ex-employee who wrote this review. Having worked for an IRB for the amount of time she indicated, I would expect that she know how to properly complete a 1572. 7. Regarding bonuses: $20,000 in bonuses were given last year. 8. We are a new and growing company. We currently offer support with health insurance, and as we grow so will the benefit package. This is made clear during the interview process. 9. It is correct that there was an issue with pay checks, as the company we were using calculated checks on a bi-weekly instead of bi-monthly basis. The issue was rectified and a check was issued to her the day she reported the issue. We no longer use that company for payroll. Her other comments are her opinion and therefore can not be disputed. In defense of our company, I can only disagree with her opinion and point out that since being terminated from Relaro, the environment is relaxed, fun, energetic and thriving. I do not believe this is a coincidence.

Pros

The team at Relaro Medical Trials is supportive and hard working. The office manager goes above and beyond for training new staff and making sure they feel comfortable in their roles. The coordinators and study team are always willing to help out and allow you to thrive in your role. It was a refreshing experience to work along staff that are passionate about the same values and goals.

Cons

The downside for me personally was the commute from the suburbs to the office location in Dallas. If living in the North Dallas/Richardson area it's not bad but commuting from the suburbs took me about 45 minutes.
