Pros

many highly spirited and talented artists

Cons

No career path, no room to grow unless you belong to some in-club, that mostly consists of Finnish long time employees. This is also how all decisions are made - flat hierarchy is the buzzword of the hour and pretty much just a feel good lie. Management/ CEO/ owner are thoroughly disconnected from reality, Business outlook for the future is abysmal. There is no bonuses or tangible benefits. As the company is struggling money-wise and the projects are shipped late with horrendous overrunning costs, no profit is made. Looks like this will only get worse. High ambitions are wrought out of artists and developers with guilt, pressure and blame under the pretext of a promise of greatness. Reality is hundreds and hundreds of overtime hours due to broken processes, insanely juvenile leadership, a narcissistic self view of own infallibility and zero recognition or appreciation towards people carrying the weight of all those charades. While the last project received highest critical acclaim it has been shipped with dozens and dozens of (in part clinically) burned out, artists, developers and producers and unbearable toxic fallout, bullying and harassment across all - but especially the art departments. None of this is being talked about, nothing will change. The plan to work on 5 projects at the same time remains, people are worn out, sad, desperate and in disbelief at the laughable outlook on how any of this is supposed to be realized, while creative leadership indulges in self praise on breakfast television. If you want to work here, do not relocate to Finland. There is no local alternative, you will be trapped and forced to leave country again once you are burned out looking for an new job.

Pros

-multi cultural passionate and talented colleagues -interesting project themes -creative freedom in art team + possibility to own some decision in the areas your work in -snacks and coffee -movie night and occasional game night -studio in stockholm -independent game maker and ownership of projects -gym in the studio -relocation help to Finland + relocation bonus -help you rent an appartment -private health care -cultural and health benefit (500e to use for concerts gym membership and even healthcare) -parties and amusement park day -flight back home for expats once a year

Cons

-projects are unorganized and clearly built on a short term frame -long term plans looks good on paper from an investor point of view but is unrealistic considering the number of devs and the deadlines -lack of diversity in leadership roles -salary is low when regarding prices of life in Finland and expectations from team and management, no bonus potentially for a few years depending on how the games perform, in a way this was a way to compensate low salary in the past years (Negotiate properly when going in if you can) -studio is more and more corporate. -leadership and management weak point is decision making. -no career frame/path depending on which team you are in (level design, game design, environment art for exemple don’t seem to have any sort of ways to help talents progress) -lack of experienced seniors -very demanding studio with little to no recognition for those expectations -remote positions are removed or given for specific roles (also remote workers workflow is not optimal) -environment artist tools have been inexistant in the past years (lack of tech artist for over a year now)

Pros

-Extremely talented artists. -Large cafeteria. -Ambitious projects. -Inclusive.

Cons

-Extremely low salary. -One of the most toxic company I have ever worked for. -People in management roles that shouldn't be managers. -HIgher ups are clueless of what it is like to work on games. "Profitability" is the word they like and use most often at the detriment of employees who are held responsible rather than looking in the mirror. -One On Ones are a laughable thing as they have no functions other than ask you how you are and then ignore everything being said where improvements are asked for. -Sometimes, they will not credit people in the game that worked on it, no matter how long they worked on it. -Full of prima donnas who think they are hot news because their department win awards. Yet they are a absolute nightmare to work with. -The entire budget on certain games that have ballooning features depends on the previous game selling well. And well, their games do not sell.
