Pros

Good snacks. Good work life balance for some departments. Employees (non-leadership) are real persons. There’s a sense of empathy with non-leadership employees.

Cons

I would stay away if I was thinking of going here. This place just underwent layoffs. Considering morale has been extremely low the whole year. I think it’s at its lowest point. Prior to the recent layoffs, the organization experienced a big departure of talent. Back then, we were told that this is due to better opportunities and people being taken from the company. That’s not completely true. People left because of how horrible this organization is ran. - lack of communication from all directions and this starts from leadership. How would you expect employees to communicate better if leadership doesn’t communicate to their employees properly? - employees are left in the dark with organization decisions. This lack of trusts causes a really bad culture. - in this calendar year has changed president and COO. There seems to be no stability in this place in terms of long term plans. - women have left this place and they seem to be treated less. For example: talented smart women are asked to take notes during a meeting instead of contributing. - there’s no long term strategy. Company seems to keep on changing plans and there is no continuity. - some people are rude and disrespectful. This is a product of how leadership treats their employees. Like what a previous review said, people are miserable and not a lot of people smile. - company is not profitable, they set insanely high goals that employees had no idea where it came from and the organization failed to deliver and people lost jobs because of it.

Pros

Any business can give away free food. Its purpose isn't for employee morale it's done to keep the herd content and quiet. What they need to give away is free xanax so you can live through the multitude of anxiety attacks this place gives you on any given day. Not to sound like a millennial but a big shout out to Joe P. You sir, are everything that could be right at Renew. You are a man of integrity and honor. I have more respect for you and what you've endured than for all the other members of executive management combined.

Cons

Founder is in way over his head. Had a momentary stroke of genius with his ideals (yes, they were ideals and not how the real world works) of PACE yet decided not to listen to good solid reasoning and lost many brilliant people. And, based on who has been hired since, he doesn't have a keen sense of talent. Seems he is just hiring "yes men". I say men because other than outward appearances, women have little say in Company matters. Make no mistake, this is the epitome of an old boys network. It also helps to be white. It almost seems like he lives in a bubble or fantasyland where everyone is honest and altruistic. Cisco, seriously, wake up. Top down executive level leadership (haha) that doesn't listen to departmental leadership and doesn't share information with them. Top down departmental leadership (haha) that hoards information and doesn't share it with other departments that allows for misinformation to be shared and then retracted almost daily. Top down group leadership (haha) that is inexperienced managing others and spends most of their days in meetings where they disseminate all of the misinformation given to them. Front line employees who are underpaid and over taxed with keeping up on daily policy and procedural changes. A company that's been in business for as long as we have shouldn't still be going through "growing pains". Executive management has almost no foresight or thoughts towards future growth. And then they wonder why they have little to no business being generated from their main market. I overheard a manager call it "market saturation". Makes sense to me. Obviously not them.

Pros

A handful of good people... most of which have since left.

Cons

Nobody smiles, nobody is even remotely happy. It's palpable. Yesterdays misery lingers in the air when you come into work in the morning. Upper management makes zero attempt at being friendly or welcoming people into the company if they don't have title status. There is zero innovation. If you're looking to learn and grow with a company... go somewhere else. Women beware! The old white men who run the company do not care about what you think and they never will. No matter how much executive diversity training they bring in. The company isn't making any money and they won't for the foreseeable future. Better to stay far, far away.
