-Hours are inconsistent and they will change your schedule without notifying you.
-There has been a running assumption among most housekeepers that the housekeeping manager Roshan steals tips and when 2 employees encountered him about it, they were fired for "another reason." I noticed many times that when he didn't work, I would get significantly more tips. Too many times to just be a coincidence. Other housekeepers said they noticed the same thing.
- You get walked all over by upper management. We had to clean 20 rooms per day with 9 checkouts, 3-4 of them being QQST or TOBR (big rooms). If we didn't finish, we were put down. Once the housekeeping manager told me that my productivity is horrible, even though I had the highest guest satisfaction and cleanliness scores out of every housekeeper on the team.
-Nothing you do will ever be enough. They will always push you more and more and if you aren't able to accomplish what they give you, you will be berated. The work is incredibly physically taxing even with a normal workload, however you will be given significantly more than the normal amount of work Residence Inn housekeepers are given and you will be expected to complete it within the same amount of time.
-You will never be appreciated. You will hear the same monotonous "we appreciate your hard work" once per week, immediately followed by all the ways in which you are inadequate.
-If you speak a language other than English, good luck feeling respected because Roshan will stand there and repeat the same guest scores and demand for you to say the yearly goal to him when you don't even know the English numerical system.
All in all, DO NOT WORK HERE. I know that the pay is a bit higher than most housekeeper salaries, but your boss WILL overwork you all while refusing to hire more help. I worked here for a year and a half and my back pain is now constant and nearly unbearable. It is not worth it. I hope these things have proved to you that this is a horribly managed hotel and you will only be appreciated if you break your back for them.
