Pros

At least you made it to Montana; now time to find a real job elsewhere. Montana is beautiful and there are several cities that you could look into to find satisfying work.

Cons

Dictator runs the company. Emails cannot be sent without his approval. Ultra micro-manager. I never knew that this type of person could exist in this modern age, I guess he gets away with it since there are few opportunities in Butte. The cost of this "management" is massive employee turnover. The day after I arrived I started looking for a job. This was the worst job I have ever had and that includes transitional high school jobs.

Pros

Resodyn has some of the most hardest working people I've ever had the pleasure of working with!

Cons

This corporate atmosphere is toxic and with extremely high employee turnover. If you are foolish enough to purchase a home in Butte during your probationary period, then you have become an endentured servant.

Pros

Competetive salary Strong R&D State of the art equipment Foward thinking

Cons

Totalitarian rule Terrible company culture High pressure and little support Hyporcitical mission and values - They in no way shape or form care about your life outside of the company. Look through their website and you'll quickly start to see the reoccuring theme of "we want grants and contracts = $$$" Management will NOT accept responsibility for their shortcomings due to fear of repercussions Think of all the great reasons you'd want to work at Google, now picture the opposite of that... That's Resodyne.

Resodyn Response

Resodyn is in agreement with your Pros selections. Thank you for the kind remarks. We are disappointed to read that the employee authoring this review had such a negative experience. Resodyn consistently operates with high, well-established expectations that are motivated by our goals of continuing to provide world-class products that fulfill, or exceed the expectations of our clients. Expectations for performance and productivity of Resodyn staff are set high. These expectations are across all levels of staff and are the basis of the Resodyn culture. Resodyn has been successful, primarily because of the quality of staff. Resodyn staff has an insatiable, and consistent desire, to seek improvement and to be successful. Resodyn is very proud of its staff (team) and the energy that has been put forth, and will continue to be as we grow and mature well into the future as a technology business. The best way to briefly explain the expectations for staff to be gainfully employed at Resodyn is that there are essentially two career paths for our professionals. One is to work on advanced, high-risk, cutting-edge R&D projects in specialized technical fields. The funding for this work is almost exclusively found by tapping into a Federally funded program called the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. This is large (nominally $3 billion) program that allows small businesses to compete for high-risk R&D dollars. (By the way, it is a great program having spawned off new advanced technologies and businesses.) Resodyn has been tremendously successful with the SBIR program. Since its inception in 1994, Resodyn has been awarded nearly $30 million dollars in R&D grants across eight different federal agencies. The projects funded by these awards have been the staple for development of Resodyn R&D capabilities and are the seeds used for Resodyn to invent and develop and launch new commercial products. The SBIR program is extremely competitive, but it provides an excellent source of R&D funding across a broad range of technologies that we have developed. If a staff member chooses the R&D career path, they are expected to prepare and write proposals designed to win competitive awards. When a Resodyn staff member is granted an award, they are assigned the position of a Principal Investigator for the project that they developed. In other words Resodyn staff have the freedom to conceptualize new ideas with the support of the full Resodyn staff, infrastructure (facilities and knowledge base), and track record. The “ground rules” for this career path at Resodyn is made clear to those choosing this path during the interview process and at the time of hire. The second career path at Resodyn is to conduct work on the commercial side of the business and is dominated by work that is in the realm of engineering and manufacturing. This work is funded by the products that Resodyn sells worldwide. For the highly motivated prospective employee, Resodyn offers the hybrid approach for the two career paths in that one can be the “inventor”, or co-inventor of the new idea that takes it from inception, to grant funding, to prototype development and productization and then works with Resodyn support from the product commercialization side to take it to market.
