Pretty sad "Agency" exerience

Pros

Very small place so you get experience in a lot of moving parts of a project. Great work life balance and a real relaxed environment. Compensation was decent and they give decent benefits.

Cons

This place is not an agency it's whatever work the other real agencies don't want to do, you'll get. I heard it called a "NYC ad agency in NJ" multiple times and had to laugh. All you'll do is run contests on Facebook pages and post coupons. You'll get no training or any direction on projects. It's kind of a free for all. Like previous reviews, the president is very moody. He was always the last one in and first one to leave. For how small the place is, the politics there are ridiculous. The president and whoever runs account services pick their favorites and make sure they move up no matter what.

Not satisfied overall

Pros

Overall, they hire staff that integrates well into their culture and everyone seems to get along pretty well. They go out for happy hours and lunches together which promotes a nice culture. There's a great work life balance here too.

Cons

The president of the company is moody and rude at times. To the point where you don't know what kind of mood he'll come in with that day. Most often than not, he sneaks into his office in the morning without even a friendly greeting to his staff. Not much of a great leader there. They also heavily play favorites here. Promoting only those who are closest to the president and the woman who runs account service.

Extremely Disappointed

Pros

Great work life balance, frequent team outings, modern office, bagel Mondays, cool brands, and nice work station. You also get to work on different types of projects each week, which makes the work more exciting. The tech team is hilarious, and keeps the energy flowing through a quiet office. They also do nice celebrations for people who are getting married, having a baby, etc.

Cons

Read the past reviews. Unfortunately, they were pretty spot on. I went in with high hopes. Very cliquey, lots of drama, favoritism is clear, and employees regularly talk about each other behind their backs. Management is willing to throw you under the bus for any reason they please, instilling an overall sense of fear that you might be next. There was actually a running joke that new employees never stay -- that should say something. Overall, if you do not fit in, you probably won't last. To be fair, there are some genuinely talented, kind, and hardworking people who make the days a little better, but they get drowned out by the office culture. Surround yourself with the right people, and you might actually learn something.
