Pros

- Great offices - Amazing staff - Good product (always getting better) - "Flexible working" - Awesome perks - Great social culture - Externally a brand you can be proud of.

Cons

- Internally, employee engagement feels forced. - 'Work Hard' value used as an excuse for long days with ridiculous expectations (worse if you have to liaise with overseas staff). Work lumped onto already drowning staff. - "Speak Up" value is encouraged, but not endorsed. Constructive criticism or differing views ignored. - Unless you drink the cool-aide, horrible environment. - Sales focused business, favoured in spending and hiring. - Senior management care about perception rather than reality.

Hi, it's Kylie Green. Thanks for taking the time to share your review about your experiences at Reward Gateway. You mentioned in your pro's that we have great offices and teams. I completely agree we have amazing people who come to work everyday dedicated to delighting our customers and have a great time with our social culture. I am glad you enjoyed the perks/benefits during your time at RG. From 5 weeks annual leave, to a wellbeing allowance, one years parental leave and of course access to our own discount program. We work hard to ensure we provide a strong benefits offering to reflect our desire to support and care for our employees. We assess our benefits regularly against our 5 guiding benefits principles of fairness, choice, balance, wow and easy. Your cons list was challenging because it is very different to my experience at Reward Gateway and the feedback we regularly receive from the team. But I will do my best to address it and will share it with the other Australian leaders so we can learn from it. I am disappointed to hear that employee engagement felt forced to you. It's something that we spend significant time in our recruitment process on, as people who thrive at Reward Gateway are truly passionate about employee engagement, both within our teams and those of our clients. Work hard is certainly a core value at Reward Gateway and our people choose to work in this fast paced environment because they truly love their job, our mission to make the world a better place to work and the personal growth opportunities. You are correct, some of our team do connect globally with colleagues in our Boston, London or Plovdiv offices in the Australian morning or evening. We empower our people to balance this by taking advantage of flexible hours and work from home, so they can enjoy work- life integration. I find it difficult to relate to your comment on a horrible environment. Many of the team here talk about it being the best place they have ever worked and that has been my experience too. I am sorry this wasn't your experience and hope you are enjoying your new working environment. You mentioned that Reward Gateway is a dictatorship and recommend an external review. I agree that external reviews can add a lot of value. That's why we conducted the Best Places to Work survey this year. The Leadership team, the People team, the Australian leaders and I spent a lot of time looking at these results to work out how we can create an environment where our teams can thrive, grow and do some of the best work of their lives. The survey provided a tool for employees to live our 'speak up' value and some of the results from this years surveys for Australia are: - 96% of respondents would recommend RG as a place to work to others - 100% of respondents said taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work -100% of respondents said management trusted them to a great job without looking over their shoulder - 96% of respondents said people are encouraged to balance their work and their personal life. The Great Places to Work survey also highlighted areas where we could improve on diversity and inclusion, pay review process, people information, performance conversations and learning and development - to make RG an amazing place to be from. The People team have done significant work on these areas over the past six months. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Reward Gateway certainly isn't for everyone and I hope you have found an environment that you really enjoy. Thanks, Kylie

Pros

- Great team who bring a lot of energy and creativity to work. - Socially the culture is awesome and I really feel like I have made genuine friendships from working at RG. - Great suite of benefits that I actually do miss now that I'm gone. - High level of trust and autonomy given to employees.

Cons

- Understaffed and under pressure - working beyond a reasonable number of hours per week to deliver results to clients. - Working 12 hours days feels expected and gives a whole new meaning to the company value "work hard" - resulting in feeling burnt out. - No real investment in L&D or up skilling for AU employees who want to progress within the company - Due to lack of growth/ succession planning it feels like there is an expiry date to this particular role and the management are ok with that - leads to feeling unappreciated for your efforts and somewhat replaceable when your time is up.

Hi, it’s Doug here. Thank you for your review. It was very insightful. First of all, I want to thank you for your time at RG. You added a lot to the business, and you’ve helped put RG in a leadership position for Employee Engagement and Recognition software and service in Australia. Your comments resonate with me as I have no doubt you lived our Work Hard value, but I think you also know that we stress work/life balance and provide a significant paid time off benefit plus flexible working where practical. Your comments lead me to believe that we need to reiterate our goals in this area across the business. As for career opportunities, I understand your frustration, especially working in a regional office of a global business, but we have been able to support career development for some of your peers in Australia. For some, it has been through promotion locally, and for others, we have provided global roles in our other offices where the business can benefit from your colleagues’ skills and leadership. There can be, however, limitations for some of you who simply outgrow the opportunities available at RG, and you are correct we are comfortable with people moving to a better role somewhere else when that occurs. You should not take that as disrespecting or undervaluing the work you have done for RG, but rather it reflects our genuine caring for you as a person and a professional. We want you Love Your Job and when our needs can’t meet your skills and career aspirations we want you to find your place wherever that is. As you know we allow our former employees to keep their vested equity shares thus allowing them to benefit from their contributions even after moving on to better opportunities. My only other comment is to dispute your comment regarding L&D. We significantly increased our financial commitment to L&D last year and are again increasing it in this financial year. Some of this is in company-sponsored initiatives, but we have also provided flexibility for our staff to seek support for individual L&D programs (including some funding and time for higher education goals) where it benefits both the employee and the business. Perhaps you were not aware of these programs or there wasn’t one that was on point for your role. In any event, I will make sure that Rob Hicks and the People Team continue to promote our commitment to L&D across the business. Thank you again for your note, and for your service to RG and our clients. I wish you nothing but the best in your future career.
