Pros

If you're looking for a job that gives you the illusion of employment without the burden of actual hours, look no further. I was hired along with a group of new folks during a brief two-week burst of activity. We thought we were part of something. Spoiler alert: we weren't. After the initial rush, shifts vanished like my dad who went out for milk. In June, I received exactly one shift (yes, one) totaling eight glorious hours for the entire month. A coworker who started with me fared slightly better with a whopping three days. We celebrated. Briefly. When I asked about my hours, I was told by a wonderful person to “look elsewhere.” So helpful. So inspiring. So, I took his advice. The cherry on top? One of the manager's ( whose taste in music and men is almost as questionable as her management style) made sure morale stayed in the basement. Disrespect from them was served daily, along with a side of confusion and zero communication. If you enjoy being hired only to be ghosted, underutilized, and lightly insulted, this place might be for you. Otherwise, save yourself the gas money and stay far, far away. Good luck out there — you’ll need it if you end up here. Take Away Pros: You’ll have plenty of free time… like, too much. Great role if you're looking to practice mindfulness while staring at an empty schedule. You get to meet new coworkers — briefly, before they also disappear. Ideal job for testing the limits of how little money you can survive on. If you're into toxic workplace dynamics, you’re in for a treat.

Cons

“Part-time” means “maybe one shift a month if the stars align.” Management communicates like it’s a top secret mission. Manager is more concerned with their playlist and dating life than, you know, managing. Disrespect and favoritism are part of the culture. No job security, no consistent schedule, no explanation. Just vibes.
