The fish rots from the head

Pros

Good client portfolio, which creates a sense of meaningful work and purpose. Most colleagues are smart, capable, nice. Middle management was supportive and invested in team development. There is a decent level of knowledge sharing systems.

Cons

Unfortunately, my experience with the leadership team was deeply disappointing. Senior leaders infantilise employees, showing little regard for their identities and work experiences prior to joining Right Lane. People are not valued. Some Principals are minimally involved in project work and offer little to no constructive feedback, even when directly engaged. There is a clear issue with favouritism, which affects morale and transparency. Many team members don’t feel safe or comfortable providing honest feedback to leadership, which stifles growth and trust. Onboarding and training processes are poorly defined, and the company sees an unusually high rate of employees not passing probation - Right Lane should reflect on why this is the case. The absence of a formal HR function or clear safety mechanisms is concerning, particularly in a company that promotes its ethical values. Unfortunately, these values don’t appear to translate into internal practices. While the culture isn't outright toxic, it is certainly not positive. Overall, this was the most disheartening workplace experience of my career, and I would not recommend it, especially not without significant changes at the top.

Pros

Junior staff are genuinely nice and want to support you.

Cons

Management is terrible. No support to actually perform your role or develop. People skills of management are so low it is a joke. Pretty good at strategy, terrible at people management. Work life balance, on the job training, opportunities to support the NFP sector, all just talk.
