Fake Corporate Culture, Avoid At All Costs

Pros

None, your shares are worth nothing divided amongst hundreds of employees.

Cons

Completely fake corporate culture, fostering the false song of globalism. "Diversity," and promotions based on race and skin color instead of merit, skill and experience. Their product is failing, and will continuously fail until they re-evaluate. But hey, as long as millionaires have your tax money to fill these fake companies with, it's fine with them. Ownership are salesmen, nothing more. The CTO is completely fake and couldn't write five lines of code to save his own life. Male egos abound in this fake "corporate" environment that "embraces" diversity (until it fires non-white employees). Owners are recent MBA grads, so they have no real skills or knowledge in product deliverables. They are still trying to grasp "agile" and implement their own bastardized version of it. There is no project management. They hired a few "Masters" grads with zero experience. The product is screwed, people are leaving in droves. Get out now while you still can, or just avoid this place altogether like the plague.

Pros

The people I worked directly with were talented, supportive, customer centric and understood the industry.

Cons

Talented employees are viewed as commodities instead of valuable assets. You are asked for personal opinions of team members and peers if it was felt they could be a problem instead of management speaking with them directly to understand any issues. There is no control or documentation of the system, changes are made with no impact assessment and released with no communication causing operational wastage and constant backtracking. Customers are not valued or supported once live. Talented people are let go with no forward planning from the leadership team. Sales consistently sell on a promise to customers, agreeing to features that are not available and need significant development (6-12months) to secure the bid. Industry knowledge is sparse putting the customer at risk.

Horrible company, fake culture!

Pros

Most people you work with are nice and really smart.

Cons

- Almost none of the early hires are at rimsys anymore (by choice or not). Even some new hires stay for a few months then leave. This company cannot keep people and doesn’t appreciate those who work after hours everyday and helped build this company. - No training or onboarding for new hires. You train yourself (but there is no one to reach out to for help) - Management has a habit of firing people on impulse with no planning on what they’re gonna do without him/her, leaving rest of the team extremely frustrated. - Management does not provide the need employees ask for. Many people left for this reason. - The department director I worked under was not really a director. Instead of providing help this director causes more issues by not assisting with any solutions. -The onshore and offshore team are super disconnected and because of this you will receive slack messages 24/7 and they expect you to reply. Unlimited PTO means no PTO.
