Pros

Rippling has a genuinely fantastic team. The people are hardworking, supportive, and really do their best despite the challenges. There’s strong potential for the product to fill a genuine gap in the mid-market to small enterprise space once they sort out resourcing and product issues The product itself is genuinely impressive. It covers a broad scope and enjoyable to learn. The role offers the chance to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, build deep product knowledge, and navigate an interesting and challenging sales cycle

Cons

I don’t see Rippling ever being competitive in the SMB segment any time soon. It doesn’t feel like Rippling really understands the needs of Australian small businesses or how they’re structured. The market is already crowded with software companies that not only get the needs of Aussie businesses but also absolutely nail their value propositions. A big watch-out for SDRs considering this role: if you’re hoping to move up to an AE position within one or two years, this could be a bit of a trap. Given Rippling’s limited product-market fit in the SMB space, the path to promotion simply isn’t there. There are some seriously great people, and everyone’s doing their best. But, with how hard the role is, the culture just isn’t where it could be yet. The high pressure and constant hurdles mean everyone’s pretty stressed, which makes it hard for a strong culture to shine through

Pros

The Product: Rippling is genuinely miles ahead of the competition. As a TAM, it is so much easier to manage accounts when the underlying technology is robust and solves actual pain points for clients. You aren't "polishing a turd", you’re helping clients optimise a powerful HRS. Talent Density: You are surrounded by some of the smartest people in SaaS. The engineering and product teams move incredibly fast, which means bugs get fixed and requested features actually make it to the roadmap. Ownership: There is very little hand-holding. If you are a self-starter, you have the autonomy to build your own processes and truly own the technical health of your book of business. Hybrid/Remote Flexibility: The company has a great approach to modern work, with a 3 day in office standard that is accompanied by flexible options to work from anywhere for extended periods.

Cons

Velocity: The pace is relentless. Because the product evolves so quickly (new features and modules launching constantly), you have to be a adaptable learner to keep up with the tech Localisation: As a US based and founded company there are often nuances in the Australian market (particularly around payroll) that are missed. This is changing quickly as we build talent and investment in the Australian region, however it is a pain point/compliance risk for some customers.

Pros

- great team in Sydney office - workload has been manageable - clients are proactively working to engage and get better use from the system

Cons

- more a warning to other potential employees, the standards here are high, if someone is coming into the business expecting to cruise they won’t last long.
