Nightmare of a Family to Work for

Pros

You get free food after you work 12-14 hour days for events. "Early Release" on Fridays is supposed to be at 3PM, but you'll never get to actually leave at that time because you're expected to do 10 jobs in one.

Cons

You're expected to work 50+ hours a week - your personal time is not respected in any way shape or form. It is run by a family that cannot work together, and are completely divided in everything that they do. They are also competitive with each other, and drag your position into their drama at every turn. Management is not real management, and the "perks" such as monthly bonuses and "team bonuses" are not genuine, and literally never happen. The amount of stress you will endure working here is not worth it, apply somewhere else. I started losing my hair 6 months in. Also, they expect you to work 4-6 events a month, but will only say 2 in your interview - which means you will have 4-6 days a month that you are there from 7:45am - 9/10pm at night, and will never have that time given back to you. You are also given the responsibilities of 5 positions and expected to deliver at every turn for all 5 positions. They also push their personal political agenda onto you at all times, in every conversation.

Pros

Free lunch, big cappuccino machine in the lobby, paid on time, decent salary

Cons

In my short time here, most people I was working with were brand new. The people who had been there longer than just a short few months were family members. When I began training for my position, I was told to do it a different way from each person who was training me. At one time I was told by someone that they would take care of something, and then later that day the same person berated me for not taking care of it, essentially gas lighting me. I would get in trouble for things other people weren’t doing either. “Do as I say, not as I do.” They told me this was a “no lunch culture” office, so in addition to staying late most nights, I was only getting a short lunch break in the tiny kitchen. It was nice that they bought lunch for the week, but it was a way to control you and keep you readily available to get you back to work at the drop of a hat. They initially told me they only held 2-3 events in a month, but it was more like 5-6. They micromanage their employees. They have an internal messaging program to cut back on inter office emails, but that is heavily monitored. You have to send in an email to HR what exactly you did all day long. I wish I had listened to the 1 star reviews before I started working here.

Be Careful

Pros

The employees are all generally nice and have each other's back which helps when the Management decides to publicly shame you. There is also a little kitchen in the office and the company has a personal shopper who picks up food for the employees. But they have this because the CEO doesn't want you to leave for a lunch break. You will constantly hear that "We are a NO LUNCH culture."

Cons

Just look at the staff turnover people are hired, stay for only a couple months and then get fired . When this happens for years, you have to realize it's a leadership problem, not an employee problem. A typical day looks like this, you will be pulled into the CEOs office to be demeaned and shamed for something random, and not related to your job. There is constant confusion in the office - the CEO firmly wants things done a certain way one week, then forgets what she says the next week and yells at staff wondering why they are doing things exactly like how she told them the week before. The problem seems to be, she doesn't know what she wants and has very little knowledge on how to run a business. So she has people scrambling every day while she wastes everyone's time changing business directions all with unrealistic deadlines. All the CEO does is call meetings to listen to herself talk with no real clarity on what the problem is that she is trying to address. You won't be able to mention this or offer suggestions because management is not interested.
