Pros

-Being hired by one of the PH's biggest conglomerate is very fulfilling in the start. - Also, there is a rice subsidy allowance every quarter that other companies doesn't offer so fair enough. - A lot of opportunities to connect with the people in the marketing industry. Suppliers, movie production houses (I worked for the Cinema), media partners, etc. -You get to travel for work -I became stronger and more patient after being under the supervision of a terror boss

Cons

-Low salary -The people are close minded and think of themselves as "the best". When in truth, there are so many ways to learn and grow. Their marketing team needs a creative mind that will think out of the box and don't always stick to traditional marketing concepts. - My former boss, (and I say boss because she always wants to be treated like one) is not a leader at all. She doesn't know or have the patience to teach her staff. She lets another Marketing Officer teach me wherein I would only be advised to copy the documents from previous projects. She will always demand us to work after office hours and weekends even if we could do it during office hours (she is usually 2 hours late to work or do personal errands during working hours), giving us 0% work-life balance. She'll go to month long trips abroad even though there are big projects lined up and when you mess up she will scream at you regardless if it's a public place or the office where people from other departments could hear. But the moment you do something right, she makes sure to get all the credits. The turnover rate of people in her department is constant, Marketing Officer and assistant every year, sometimes months. She was the worst boss an employee could encounter, and that's a fact because all the people under that was under her supervision received the same ill-treatment. It was a known thing inside the company but the HR does the bare minimum about it.

Pros

None. I hated my stay here and advice no one to work for this company. They are good at branding but entirely horrible to their people. Maybe only good to top brass.

Cons

1.) Get your leaves 1.5 years after employment. Is this even legal?! 2.) Low pay. 3.) Long Hours. Go in 8am and leave 9pm... DAILY. 4.) Excuse for few employees is because they don't have budget. (One of the largest companies in the Philippines and no budget?!?!) 5.) No bonuses. 6.) Middle and Senior Management are not as good as you think. 7.) Limited HMO

Pros

- Large conglomerate (great for collecting experience) - HR are very accomodating - Rice subsidy, midyear bonus (chosen people), Christmas Bonus - Follows government-mandated rules - Associate colleagues are nice - Great place to expand your network - Accessible office (Head Office)

Cons

I am under a department whereas the boss see him/herself as "boss," not a leader. He/she doesn't know that there's no "I" in "team." Whenever we have oversights, he/she heavily blames us. Also, for mistakes, he/she always tells us that we should have accountability, but when we perfected a project, he/she accounts all the credits to him/her. He/she often have these moodswings. Always on leave for a month travelling, while leaving the team with big projects. Causes anxiety to a lot of his/her officers, and leaving empty threats that "I will write you a memo/report to HR/ file a 201." No wonder a lot have been resigning year after year. Even proud that people are afraid of him/her. Yet even after all of these, HR still cant get the fact that the problem is in him/her on why turnover rates have gone high in his/her department. Of all the bosses that I've had in my career, I can safely say that he/she was the worst. You're so unlucky if you ever gone into this department.
