Former Educational Specialist - not angry but dissappointed
Pros
I loved my job (Educating engineers about corrosion and having the answers they needed). Good benefit package.
Cons
Career Opportunities – If you are good at your job there is no opportunity for career advancement, even if you are well liked by upper management. I personally was discouraged by my direct supervisor on several occasions from applying for other positions within the company. Compensation – PLEASE make sure you understand your compensation 100% if you are on variable comp!!!!! I received at least four different explanations as to how my compensation was structured and none of them matched. I was hired on with the illusion that I would/had ample opportunity to make a lot of money, all of which was a lie! Benefits - Good Work/Life Balance – There is NONE. Senior Management – Only think about themselves! Culture & Values – Values are non-existing and company culture is FEAR. HR – Has NO power within the organization. I never interviewed with HR, actually didn’t meet HR until orientation.
