Cons
As others have already shared, Roc Technologies are an extremely poor company to work for. Whilst the MD has some good qualities and really is looking to turn the business around, both from a cultural and corporate perspective, the rest of senior management are seriously lacking in ability, drive, compassion and medium/long term business outlook. If you are not a member of the 'it' crowd (consisting of employees who have been in the business for a number of years and have now found their way in to senior positions), you will receive no support, no communication from management about changes that directly impact you. You will be left with a feeling of detachment that separates your work from the wider mission of the business. On culture and pay, loyalty will be punished. While the starting salary may seem competitive, this quickly falls off due to a lack of pay reviews (regardless of performance) and no real career progression on offer. You will quickly find yourself being paid well below comparable positions available on the market, this has lead to an exodus of talent over the past couple of years. My advice to any prospective employee is to STAY AWAY. There are many great UK tech companies to work for (having worked for several in the past and currently). Roc is not one of these, a business that has been built to run on the cheap from day 1.
