Don't work there

Pros

The clients are wonderful to work with!

Cons

The management do not take care of their employees much less the clients. They had an employee who struck a client but was allowed to come into the building to say goodbye to the clients. Also when the staff knows that something is wrong with a client and they go to the management about it, they don't do anything about it. For example a client fell and hurt their arm, when the nurse looked at him she stated that the client needed an xray but he wasn't taken to get one.

Pros

You get to hang out with the clients and that is so much fun. The house jobs are fairly easy but their hours suck. Dayhab has good hours but the job is much more stressful.

Cons

The management is really poor. They talk down to employees. They seem like they don't care about the clients. The pay is horrendous. Prepare to work holidays. It's a stressful job and the only payoff is spending time with the clients who become almost like family.

They Just Don't Care

Pros

Being able to make a difference in your clients life- that they look forward to you being there and you looking forward to spending quality time. Opportunities for overtime was high and abundant due to high turnover. Don't know how to cook? If you care enough, you'll learn pretty quickly.

Cons

Everyone else you work with is against you. Your may find a few good souls that care. The rest rather be a warm body putting their time in for 8 hours. Taking your concerns to management does absolutely nothing. They'll make you feel like you're the idiot for bringing up an issue, as if you should have brought it up sooner. Even though you brought it up to this manager many times before. It's truly baffling. They couldn't care less who they hire and who's there for years, even though those people are the scum of the Earth.
