-Zero work-life balance. This is an 8-5 Monday-Friday in person job where you sit at a desk all day long with zero chance of working from home. If you live in the area and this is something you're looking for then that's fine, but if you have to commute or you're looking for flexibility and time with your family, this is not the job for you.
-Very high turn over rate. It's a revolving door here.
-Bad leadership. Do not look out for their people and care only about politics and making the higher ups at the county happy.
-For this position specifically, a lot is put on you by the chief to complete fiscal and financial tasks that technically you're supposed to just "assist" with, but it ends up 100% being your responsibility even though you don't get paid for it.
-Passive aggressiveness, gaslighting and misogynistic behavior from leadership.
-Very old fashion way of doing things, not willing to change or adapt.
-Policies and rules change all the time, no specific order or way of doing things until someone gets mad about the way you're doing something. Some people, including leadership come and go as they please and don't answer to anyone, while others are scolded for it.
-Inconsistent and not always the best morale among staff.
