very fast paced with little training beforehand. Id only been a barista previously and wanted to learn bartending but I was only given a brief tour of the bar before being left alone behind it on a football day about 2 weeks into my employment. I also put in my request a whole month early to the deadline to work on new years rather than Christmas day since we needed to do one or the other- I told the person we were guided to as soon as they asked us to choose- and then told another manager just in case they forgot. One week before Christmas I learned they'd shifted me for both days as if I'd never mentioned a preference. I never really knew when my shifts would end, I was scolded for not completing tasks on our staff list just to learn weeks later that they'd forgotten to give me the login to see the online list... I didn't even know it existed. Id have to scrape glass from under shelves, make drinks without being told that ingredients could be on an entirely different floor ...lots of things that left me very deflated as someone who just wanted to learn. On top, there was also confusion around the payday cutoff and I wasn't ever too sure when I'd be given my earned funds
