Pros

Benefits. They used to be better but they still aren't horrible. You can actually be decently successful if you dont care about helping anyone or work to hard.

Cons

Top administration is only looking out for themselves, it's a total men's club, no support for staff or appreciation, and a full lack of responsibility for any issue that arises. They will work you until your actually sick and then cut you loose like garbage.

In a sad state

Pros

Good place to get your first teaching position.

Cons

So many cons! Terrible management, don't keep in touch with employees. In 7 years of teaching I NEVER ONCE heard from my dean. Never checked in on me to see how I was doing. Pay is low. Support is nonexistent. Incompetent full-time professors. Lack of communication is the worst I've ever seen.

Toxic environment and highly political

Pros

- Great time off (spring break, fall break, etc.) - Friendly staff - Fulfilling work In my time working at RSU, I met so many amazing people. The staff across campus is awesome.

Cons

- Low pay - Extremely toxic environment - Poor management - Highly political - No accountability - High turnover The treatment you will receive at RSU is highly dependent on what department you are in and who you know. The VPs are extremely problematic and there are no checks on their power. Their friends are held to an entirely different standard than everyone else - there is no accountability. Other staff members are considered insignificant and replaceable, despite their contributions to the organization. If you display any knowledge or expertise on a subject, you will be taken advantage of and there will be no reward for the time you put in. It is a sad state of affairs and most of the problems could be fixed with a new administration and proper management. The President is a kind person, but it is unclear how aware he is of the situation.
