Cons

"It's deeply saddening to recount my experience at Roosters, a stark illustration of systemic management failures, beginning with the very first impression. Even during the application process, the shop's advertised hours proved unreliable, with frequent, unexplained closures – a glaring red flag I regret ignoring. This inconsistency created a foundation of unreliability, a critical issue for someone like myself, operating a mobile barbering business alongside this role, a fact both the owner and manager were fully aware of. The unprofessionalism escalated significantly during my tenure. Several months in, the manager openly discussed her involvement with prescription pharmaceuticals and her intent to purchase pills, a jarringly inappropriate revelation. This blatant hypocrisy was compounded by the recent termination of a receptionist for candidly discussing her addiction struggles. The shop's revolving door of receptionists and barbers, including the manager’s sister, dismissed over a petty family quarrel, underscored the chaotic environment. Despite being a top earner, I was ultimately terminated, a clear indication of misaligned priorities. Being a top earner, my termination has caused significant financial hardship. Management's targeted scrutiny of my punctuality, conveniently timed with my growing client preference, revealed a pattern of prioritizing control over professionalism. I consistently aimed to provide excellent service and maintain a positive work environment, not to engage in workplace politics. Furthermore, the manager's frequent marijuana breaks in her truck, poorly concealed by cologne, created an atmosphere of blatant disregard for workplace standards. When I voiced these serious concerns, the owner's dismissive response demonstrated a complete lack of accountability. In summary, Roosters failed to provide the reliable and respectful workplace I expected. The combination of unpredictable hours, unprofessional conduct, and dismissive management created a profoundly disappointing experience. This entire experience left me feeling deeply disillusioned and disrespected. I will be escalating these concerns to corporate, providing detailed documentation of each incident, in hopes of instigating necessary change."
