inept management amidst massive growth

Pros

not micromanaged; prints money when business is booming

Cons

penny-wise and pound foolish cost management; horrible culture; male-dominated and chauvinistic; some very abrasive and arrogant management; rolled out a new ERP system in the most inept way possible. Hire the least qualified people and expect them to learn on the fly with little to no training. Laughably understaffed. Controller doing the job of multiple accountants. Toxic personalities. CEO is weak - takes no interest in employees, spews business book cliches , is about as charismatic as the cup he spits his chew into. Is clueless about being a leader that men and women want to follow. Makes a ton of money but I believe is only interested in making ebitda to keep private equity ownership happy so those bonuses keep coming in.

Great Experience - Avoid at all costs

Pros

A few pros are the perks you get: car, phone, etc. Very flexible schedule in terms of scheduling on your own.

Cons

This will be long. Overworked and the attitude is "they do not owe you anything". There are particular people in particular positions that essentially are running the regional side of the business into the ground. Experience is not appreciated nor is the time or effort you put it. Ultimately, when positions become available for your career to advance they will entertain you with gimmicky interviews, pats on the back, and even suggest you are a front runner; until, who is responsible for hiring hears of his close buddy or family member losing a job and is magically qualified. Ops used to take a trip every year prior to the season starting. It was a great trip, every year the ops guys/girls got together for a weekend and just hashed out the previous year and created a mindset for the upcoming season that was more positive. It really was something to look forward to, well, that was at least until the infamous "snow trip" everyone in the company heard round the world. There are a lot of hush hush situations that get covered up here as well.
