Pros

All in all, the coworkers are good people.

Cons

Many things. There is no sense of structure to anything that is done. Meetings are emotional shouting matches, with repeated arguments. Solutions are never made, suggested or even attempted. People are afraid of the CEO. They fear getting him upset and thus removal from their job. This in turn creates a toxic work environment that is setup to never meet any goals. Communication is by far the poorest I’ve seen in any company I have worked for. I was often talked over by all levels of my “team.” Honestly, the group I worked with is no team. This place relies on copying what’s been done. In fact, I was told to “copy what others are doing. Don’t do what you do.” There is no innovation. Design is disrespected here. Unfortunately people are overworked, stressed and due to the setup of the company, they appear to be suffering physically and mentally. I was becoming negative there, and knew I had to remove myself. They preach wellbeing, but it is not practiced. Those who are stuck there, i wish you much luck.

Pros

Get to work with some really talented people. Remote work is nice and the compensation isn’t bad.

Cons

So many. Sunny is a cocky, narcissistic, man on a pedestal that has too many subjective opinions about how everything should run, and everybody sucks up to him. As a designer it’s the most frustrating work environment I’ve ever encountered. So many experts in their craft yet nobody is able to do their jobs properly because of such micromanagement and everything is always urgent, no focus or strategy. Things change on a whim, no clarity or process for working, working with teams in India makes work/communication impossible. Not sure if anything I’ve worked on has actually landed due to rapid pivoting and redesigning. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE! People are worked way too hard. Emails flying at all hours of the night, people bragging about how little sleep they get. It’s not a healthy workplace. Everything is urgent and upper management expect you to be available outside of the 9-5 for meetings with the India teams. I’ve also experienced a lot of sexism in the workplace at RG. Men continually talking over women and disregarding their opinions in meetings.

Pros

My peers (the people actually doing all of the work) are very smart and great to work with. Office is very nice.

Cons

Both the CEO/Founder and 2nd in command (Head of Global Health and Wellbeing) are awful. CEO/Founder is extremely rude, will demand impossible deadlines without reasoning behind 'urgent' deadline updates, and is very hotile in meetings. I have seen on multiple occasions team members scrambling to put presentations together by CEOs request, and then he will just be texting on his phone on full volume as team members are presenting. He'll then ask idiotic questions regarding the presentations that had been answered already (that he missed due to not being able to focus for 15 minutes). He has no idea what is going on. He'll go from being hostile to 'funny' at the drop of the hat, and everyone around him laughs due to being uncomfortable. The Head of Global Health and Wellbeing is completely clueless on what is being worked on across her teams. She never shows up to meetings and on the rare chance that she does, she either isn't paying attention or contradicts herself over and over again. It's quite shocking and disappointing to say the least. There is absolutely no focus. This product would have some potential due to the great content and amazing team members, but because of CEOs lack of clarity and constant turnover, this company will never make a profit.
