Pros

Money was really good. People were nice. Product stunk though.

Cons

Saw a positive review here recently. Clearly a false review. Such a thinly veiled attempt to post Route in a positive light. Look. Sometimes companies don't work. Leadership is bad. Its fine. But lets not "spin" stuff on GD to make it look good. Route probably burned through 70% of the company within the last year. I'd say at least 300 people got shown the door. People either let go, laid off, fired, or quit because the end was near. When a review says "best days ahead", I just laugh. The product doesn't work. The product team is gone. Most of the sales team is gone. The former CEO is working on his "next big thing". Lights will be turned off shortly. Again, companies fail. Thats fine. But let's not lie about a company's future people. At least muster up a few ounces of truth. Much more than what you told everyone when you laid them off via email.

Pros

There is flexibility with the schedule, the co-workers were great.

Cons

The management was terrible. There are lot of politics you have to play and if you aren't willing to play you wouldn't last. You can not give any push back with certain leaders. There is zero transparency. While the co-workers were amazing it was so hard to be able to trust anyone because you had no idea who was siding with who. They were very unorganized and always changing what was the most important thing to be working on. If you know the saying if everything is important, nothing is important. That is what it felt like working there. They were always saying everything was top priority, which made nothing top priority. There was a lot of micromanaging on certain teams. I would say some of my skills decreased rather than gaining and growing in my role. The teams would talk about how bad the culture was getting and the leadership response was that we needed to change our attitude. When there were a lot of budge cuts and we weren't able to do any team building activities anymore, the leadership team made sure they were still able to do the "leadership offsite" which would always consist of a great activity. They made sure they were taken care of, but we weren't able to voice that things weren't great for us.

Pros

Some good folks work here.

Cons

The company had back-to-back layoffs in November of 2022 and June of 2023. Their business strategy is nonexistent. They want to move upmarket but offer a product that will not sell to enterprise-level customers. This is because they laid off all of the software developers in 2022 and neutered their ability to expand the product in any meaningful way beyond basic bug fixes and shopping API integration. Their product is easily imitable and, as it stands, will only sell to small to mid-range customers. They have succeeded in setting fire to their "amazing" "unicorn" Series A funding and now, terrified of a sub-par down round, are bleeding both talent and morale at an impressive rate. They have neither the ability to manage their resources nor any clear strategy for future growth. Applying here is like walking onto the Titanic. Oh, and ignore any positive reviews you see that were written immediately after November 2022 and June 2023. I have personally witnessed HR employees falsifying positive reviews on Glassdoor.
