Not a good place

Pros

Good coworkers, they are very helpful. Quickly growing as they are buying up tons of companies.

Cons

There is no training. Upper management is flighty and will keep pushing off training. Then they try to cram as much as possible into a two hour session. When you ask questions you feel super uncomfortable and unwelcome. I ended up teaching myself how to do most things. The coworkers were not a great help as they we never too sure on how to do things either. They don’t pay you for your phone and expect you to use it with a zoom number. They don’t pay for mileage. And you have to drive to board meeting. After a week I was attending and running meetings alone. I had not done the job in five years. You’re really left to figure it out yourself. They say that they have this Care Team to handle homeowner calls but you spend most of your day responding to homeowners. Then you have work orders to process and meetings to plan for. My work just kept piling up with no help at all. In the short time I was there they changed the work from home policy three times. One manager was special and didn’t have to follow it. I was told to send a list of office supplies and never got them. I had to use one old folder I found and supply my own items. I never found a stapler or anything. I asked for electronic wipes and was told to use glass cleaner. The office is filthy. Covered in dust. The break room has this old microwave that hasn’t been cleaned in probably 10 years. They had a broken fridge and a second mini one that was tiny and filthy. The place is a mess. In one month I had eight meetings. Working late every day. We’re supposed to balance it by getting off a 1 on Fridays but I always had to work late trying to catch up. There is no work life balance. The focus of the ceo is acquiring new companies. Not getting them up and running. The onboarding of a new association is a mess and files are never in the right place.

Pros

The company acquires associations like their candy because they lose them quicker than rain falling from a storm.

Cons

This was by far the worst company I’ve worked with. They have unethical practices including overcharging homeowners, creating an unnecessarily long phone tree in hopes that homeowners just hang up instead of waiting to talk to someone, and all around do not care about anyone except the C-Suite executives and lining their pockets. I felt that they did not care about me as a person or as an employee. I was constantly overworked with little to no support. The role doesn’t particularly require training itself, but standard operating procedures are a massive miss at this company. No one knows what the “correct” way of doing things are.

Pros

I have found RowCal to be an amazing place to work. Upper management treats you like a person and not a number. I am constantly amazed by the support that I get in all aspects of my job. They give me the tools, training, and backing that I need in order to get my job done successfully.

Cons

As hard as this may be to believe, I have not found any cons. I have been with RowCal for only 5 months, but am sure that I will be with RowCal for years to come.
