Pros

- The standard holiday entitlement was okay. Salaries are generally in line with the sector. However, it seemed that the annual review process felt inconsistent. While "some" performance metrics were in place, achieving them didn't always appear to translate into a proportional pay increase. Reward decisions often seemed to involve a high degree of subjectivity at senior leadership level rather than being directly and transparently linked to measurable performance outcomes. - There are opportunities to undertake training courses, but access is heavily dependent on line manager support. Even when supported locally, approvals still appear to require escalation to senior leadership, which felt excessively centralised and micromanaged at the top. - The company offers sick pay, but this is defined as discretionary within internal policies.

Cons

- Despite marketing itself as a global supplier with a focus on quality and continual improvement, my experience gave me the impression that these are just empty words. In practice, the business still tends to operate with the mindset of a small garage company, despite having grown to over 100 employees. - A lack of leadership and vision. Following changes in top management over a year ago, an already challenging situation deteriorated. Following the appointment of the new CEO, my perception was that the organisation became significantly more micromanaged. Decisions that previously would have been handled locally appeared to require increasing levels of managerial escalation, slowing down day-to-day operations. In my view, this extreme level of micromanagement creates massive operational bottlenecks and completely stifles the business. - The culture seemed incredibly reactive - instead of a proactive strategy, top management preferred to rely on constant fire-fighting. When the business experienced a financial downturn last year, my impression was that responsibility was attributed to certain non-operational teams rather than there being a broader reflection on leadership decisions. Rather than addressing root causes, the company’s solution appeared to be making skilled professionals redundant. - Internally, it felt like a place where maintaining the status quo is prioritised over actual improvement. During some internal projects or even daily tasks, certain long-standing employees acted as bottlenecks. Yet, these individuals seem protected, while others are dismissed suddenly and without notice - some colleagues would simply disappear in a day, and discussing their departure felt taboo. - The approach to staffing is equally chaotic. Earlier this year, the company made redundancies, only to immediately turn around and hand out internal promotions. From my perspective, employees who embraced the company's fire-fighting culture and aligned very closely with senior management, and naturally with their line managers, appeared more likely to progress than those advocating longer-term, systemic improvements. Furthermore, just a few months after the redundancies, they are now advertising for a new Head of Operations. This appears highly unprofessional, and I would advise prospective candidates to be wary of job security when considering this place.
