      Amazing staff, sets the bar high for social service organizations

      Pros

      Rubicon delivers on its promises to the people it serves. The staff have integrity, are compassionate, and go above and beyond every day. Program participants often talk about how past programs they have attended didn't help them, but that Rubicon is different--it feels like joining a family. Rubicon is also taking a hard look at how racial and gender disparities impact social services work and programs, and making changes to strengthen the organization's cultural responsiveness.

      Cons

      Rubicon is undergoing a major transformation. Staff are being asked to think differently about what it means to help people break out of poverty. Times of organizational change can be hard on a lot of people, and the process of challenging your core assumptions is not for everyone.
