Pros

-- Amazing people. -- Meaningful work. -- Work/life balance. 4-day work week is a game changer. And people actually take their vacation.

Cons

Lack of transparency. Top-down / command & control style leadership.

Good benefits if you don't want to do work

Pros

There are some exceptional people who work here and it would be important work if anyone actually cared enough to do it.

Cons

The mission is never at the center of the work and people who actually do work are punished. If you choose to apply, your best bet is just to collect a paycheck, ride out the great benefits, and other contract work on the side since those people seem to be promoted and able to stick around. Otherwise, if you try to actually help candidates or build anything new, you'll probably be laid off.

Unstable organization with a great mission.

Pros

4 day work week is nice. Work place culture when I was there was generally friendly and supportive. Many employees were genuinely committed to the mission and progressive politics. Salaries are good for the sector.

Cons

Organization is very hierarchical, particularly so for a non-profit, senior leadership simultaneously wants to micromanage employees but will give ever changing direction on programming. There is mission creep, seems that the org is trying to balance the original mission of recruiting/electing young progressives and trying to fundraise/keep the org relevant on social media. Benefits could be a bit better, with more coverage on family/dependent health insurance and a 401k match. Be wary about accepting a job here, it is not a long-term job with all the leadership and financial instability. Org is very top heavy with senior and exec leadership, seems to be a waste of money. The 4DWW attracts some employees who are more interested in their own side hustles than doing the work needed for progressive politics.
