I worked for this company for about 8 months in 2019. IT is only now I feel comfortable writing this review. I had not worked in a office for some time so I was quite nervous. While there were some nice people, my experience was mostly negative.
The person who trained and myself did not get along very well. There was a personality clash, which was fine at first. Not everyone you work with will love you but I figured we could get past that and work together. This is not what happened.
I sat next to this person almost the whole time I was there. But it was very stressful. I felt very intimidated and this affected my work greatly. There were times they would come to my desk and tell me I did not make phone calls that I did. When I approached them, they were not open to answer questions. I was clearly intimidated by them and they did not hide their distaste for me. They were not encouraging. I saw them train others and it went much better. Since my work suffered, I began to feel that I was the problem . The fact that they were best friends with my lead did not help.
I did go to my manager and let them know the problem. I said I felt intimidated and it was stressful working next to them. They never told me if they talked to this person. They never moved my desk away from the. The lead came to train once. But she spent most of the time chatting with this person instead of helping me. They trusted this person due to their knowledge and seniority.
I admit that this was not the job for me. But an healthy environment fosters a better workplace. Trainers that encourage you and don't belittle bring up job performance because you are comfortable where you work. I was not comfortable here.
My biggest regret is not speaking up enough and not formally complaining to HR. I put the blame solely on me when things could have been solved simply by moving my desk and have me train with someone else.
