Pros

I gained a great deal of experience and expertise while working at Saco, however as the R&D department grew, my ability to apply that experience in order to move projects forward was systematically eliminated.

Cons

The systems put in place to govern product development and commercialization are so onerous and inefficient it will be very difficult to justify the expense of product development given project costs and time to market. Most of the R&D group with industry experience specific to Saco's technology have left or are in the process of leaving.

Pros

Great pay, amount of vacation you get, but that's it!!!!

Cons

There is alot of cons, well to start off, the insurance is the worst around!! You are reminded almost daily how replaceable you are, the company doesn't care about it's production employees at all!! Never expect to move up in the company at all, the lack of advancment there is astonishing, you can put in for advancments but management will just come and tell you with a smile on their face that you didn't get it, they refuse to promote anyone that isn't a exteme brown noser, drinking buddy, or relative of management. They treat their employees like complete crap. They will always hire their friends or family before giving any production employee a promotion, but by all means, if you want to work for a company that threatens your job all the time and tells you that you are just a monkey that runs a machine then this is the place for you!!

Pros

It's an ok place to work if you are a manager, but a terrible place to work if you are not in a management position.

Cons

Technical people are micromanaged to a point where one has no means of directly contributing to one's assigned projects. No one with any expertise in their field that is hired to fill a non management technical position finds working here rewarding. Every one in the R&D department with more than 2 years of experience is currently looking for a new job. If you wish to develop a skill set that requires critial thinking, keep looking. If you want to be a mindless robot with no opportunity for future career growth and development, then this is the place for you.
