      Toxic Work Environment

      Pros

      They give you good PTO if you stay there for 5 years.

      Cons

      Make sure you know that you do not matter here and they expect that you act as a robot while working here. If you do your job well, you will be rewarded with more work and no praise and no significant raise. Good luck ever climbing the ladder here. Putting 100% into your career doesn’t do anything here. You’ll only get a small amount in a raise every year even though you did everything right. If you want to get a promotion, you practically need to kiss up to everyone, the amount of time you work here or your stats do not matter to them when it comes to promotions. Even if you do everything right, once you do one wrong thing they will make sure to make it known and will escalate it and not care what the story is behind your mistake, they do not allow mistakes, and will ensure you never feel appreciated here. This place will suck you dry and will leave you with 0 work life balance because by the end of the day you’ll leave so feeling so mentally drained that you won’t feel up for doing anything after work.

      Pros

      At one time, you were able to feel a family oriented culture. The pay is reasonable.

      Cons

      Promotions are given if you become friends with management. Education and work quality does not matter. Perfect attendance becomes a lottery for recognition.

      At Equitable, we have a family-feel to our organization so it’s not unusual for friendships take root. (What an amazing perk!) So when it comes time to promote individuals, it’s easy for some to assume that the friendship was the reason for the promotion. This is not only unprofessional and hurts morale, but it makes no business sense! Equitable takes pride in providing opportunities to individuals that have proven themselves as a valued team members in conjunction with their applicable work experience, education and ethics. The right people in the right positions is at the core of creating a successful business!
