Pros

Great team to work with.

Cons

Management seems indifferent to career progression. The workload may expand, but your salary and job level tend to remain unchanged.

Working at airports

Pros

SITA pays well and have some very good benefits (and some bad as well). As an airport staff you have a lot of freedom within SITA - just make sure you hold your deadlines and commitments and you will do well. If you are willing to relocate then SITA does offer many career opportunities.

Cons

Senior management is something else. I have never seen the level of distance-to-reality among managers anywhere else, and employee feedback was never really encouraged (censored EWC minutes anyone?) this was pre-current CEO by the way, i have no opinion on Barara. Internal tools needs a bump to the correct century, as do some of it's products.

Great company to work for but too much segregation between business units

Pros

Good salary and benefits, good CEO who provides open communication. Multicultural workforce and plenty of opportunity for travel. I have a great manager (but can't say that about all managers). It is possible to have changes implemented for business improvement, but you need the right contacts and enough conviction to make it happen.

Cons

No employee development strategy, many employees have an attitude problem and love to blame rather than take accountability. There is a culture that taking accountability is negative rather than an opportunity for improvement, but this is changing slowly with the new CEO. Collaboration across business units is very difficult and competition for savings is rife, leading to some "savings strategies" that merely transfer costs from one business unit to another rather than looking at the big picture. Management do not respect the APAC Timezone and employees are often expected to join conference calls at ridiculous hours.

SITA Response

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting several areas that you enjoy about working at SITA. Employee development is important, to both our engagement and also supporting the necessary skills we need to help the growth of the company. Based on feedback received, we have made some changes. This year, for example, in addition to our Learning Portal, we have introduced new business skills programs for employees; focusing on areas like collaborating, change management and influencing stakeholders. We also have development for managers on managing continuous improvement with their team. We continue to enhance our approaches to career management and development. Thank you for your review and I hope this response highlights the progress we are making in the areas you raised.
