Terrible managers and toxic gossiping coworkers that make you want to quit.
Low pay $13-$15 an hour while they overwork you and do not give you 401K, benefits, etc. How they get away with paying 28-35 year old grown adults only $13-$15 hour for 40 hours a week after years of work experience and college degrees is almost disrespectful to their average worker. I was never offered a raise after a year. No adult can survive on that, not in this economy.
You aren't allowed to make any mistakes or they will fire you that very day and without warning. When I first started I noticed their turnover rate was very very high. Another red flag. Every week new people are coming in and out, it is weird and says a lot about them.
There is a lack of good, clear training from co-workers and higher ups so you are bound to make a mistake. Once you do though, you are on the chopping block because they see you as very replaceable.
You can be assigned a jurisdiction and be trained on it, and then they expect you to have it down that day or the next day which is stupid and unrealistic.
Some jurisdictions have a lot of rules and can't logically be expected to be learned that quickly. Their expectations for the work are unrealistic.
If you make a major error quality assurance will issue you a ticket and if you get 3 tickets you're given an improvement plan and then you're fired. However, sometimes you are fired with no warning that very day depending on how your micro-managing manager feels that day.
There are no room for mistakes.
Having a future here and a long term career longer than 1-2 years without suffering from depression or anxiety due to the toxic work environment is absolutely not realistic. Save yourself the trouble, and do not apply to work here no matter how high the bills are or how desperate you are.
When I first applied, their employee reviews were at 2.3 stars and I ignored it thinking my experience would be "better." I was very wrong.
Do not make my mistake, SJV treats everyone horribly here no matter how loyal or how good of an employee you are.
