Pros

People are treated fairly well. Working long hours are discouraged. Company appreciation day. Atlanta office has friendly people. 8% matching 401k. No traffic issues with commute due to location in Peachtree City (main office)

Cons

No flex time. 745am-430pm set work schedule with 45 minute lunch. Lots of strange rules (no headphones with music, don't close the blinds, etc). No vacation the first year and then only 10 days after + 3 sick days the first several years. Expensive health insurance. A lot of folks who have been here decades or more and old ways/mentalities. Resistance from Louisville staff/upper management to process improvements and change. Lower pay than the rest of Atlanta metro.

Thank you for taking the time to review SMC³. SMC³ has taken feedback like this review and used it to help make us a better employer of choice. We are excited to say that we now have flex time, we now allow headphones, and we have reworked our entire vacation and sick time policies.

Pros

The benefits are fantastic. Company has absorbed health insurance increases over the past several years.

Cons

Management has clear favorites. Those favorites seem to get promoted constantly even though there are several complaints about them. Ironically, most of the favorites have poor work ethics and make other coworkers work environments toxic. Management fails to understand that some people act one way to those in power, while treating peers or people in "lower" positions extremely poorly. Management tends to tell people what they think they want to hear, but there is little to no follow through.

Pros

None, they do not want candidates who stand up for themselves.

Cons

I interviewed with SMC3 several weeks ago, completing three interviews in a week and receiving an offer after the third. As is industry common practice, I responded to the offer email gently trying to negotiate a higher salary. They had offered me $10k less than what a male colleague of mine who works there is making, which is not surprising given I am a woman in the tech industry, and we are often underpaid. In response to me asking for the same amount a man was making, they immediately rescinded the offer completely, seemingly turned off that I would try and advocate for myself during the interview process. I would not recommend anyone apply to this company, as they may very likely treat you the same as they treated me. They do not want female candidates who are brave enough to ask for equal pay of their male peers.
