Pros

Coworkers generally really nice, relaxed attitude (time spent playing having fun), lots of training invested in their employees, temperature of the office is comfortable with a jacket on. Management doesn't care about Glassdoor rating.

Cons

Pay below industry average ( except for jobs at headquarters). Case load is huge, many clients seen only once per month. Turn over on high side. It is a great place to get experience and clinical hours, but for a career there are better places with better pay and more rewarding experience with clients. Also, be aware Management likes to sometimes randomly terminate people. How or why this happens is a total mystery. NOT Developmental Disability friendly. They ask about physical disabilities and LGBTQ+ on their application but not about Mental Illness or Developmental Disabilities. So know your rights in accordance with the state EEOC.

Sound needs help

Pros

Working with clients is genuinely rewarding and is now a unionized workplace.

Cons

For the last four years, Sound has been rapidly in decline due to arrogant and tone deaf policy changes from the Executive Leadership Team that are largely driven by profit. The ELT violated several labor laws during their brazen attempt to stifle organizing and the CEO is grossly unprofessional by sending vaguely threatening emails that gaslight staff and push a false narrative about a divided organization. The sweeping changes Sound has implemented over the last few years to focus on turning a profit is truly a race to the bottom and at odds with being a positive community presence. The loss of numerous contracts with the city and county is very telling as is Sound's increasing poor reputation.
