Smart writers and editors, all of whom were laid off, worked under incompetent management.

Former owners killed SPIN, pawned it for scraps.

Pros
The staff is pretty small so you develop one-on-one relationships with all the writers and editors. Interns sit in on morning meetings and quickly learn the flow of the office.
Cons
You will transcribe staff writer interviews a lot. So if you're not up for that don't even apply. You definitely must be a self starter or you're end up being bored a lot. They don't always just give you things you do, so having story ideas and pitches is a plus.
