Pros

None, this is a good example of a company with decent products but under the hands of poor management.

Cons

Few glaring red flags: High staff turnover - They are constantly hiring but it is to replace the large number of staff leaving and not for team expansion, or so they claim. The number of staff in the SG office which is the APAC HQ that has been asked to go/resign is higher than the number of staff left. Lack of transparency - everything here is top secret, nothing is on a need-to-know basis which is very disruptive when clients/partners/agencies require any information be it financial standings/products/pricing. When staff were asked to go, the management camouflage it as poor performance with no warnings given. There were layoffs happening in the office and the management tried to hide it and even go on to claim that there were no layoffs happening and the company is doing very well. Outdated/lack of technology aka doing things on the cheap - as a marketing tech company, you would expect the company to adopt software programs to enable/speed up workplace efficiencies. The truth cannot be any further - email client is so problematic (don't expect to use Microsoft Outlook here) that emails don't get sent out, problems receiving emails etc. The messaging client used is also on a free license and has a maximum messaging limit. Then proceeds to look for alternative (FREE) platforms to use. Poor management and leadership - aside from the nepotism in the various offices, management believes that it is his way or no way. HR jokes about giving out warning letter but with no staff policy handbook in place and then adding rules as and when they please. High level of paranoia of the management - they're constantly checking if you are working at home via phone calls and submitting your task lists. Claims that disciplinary actions will be taken if information about company is leaked and even goes as far as listening in and monitoring personal conversations.

Pros

- Good brand name- Scala is an old company and has its own niche in the market. But products are outdated, difficult to sell in the market.

Cons

- High-stress environment, abusive culture, mental harassment is not a big thing here. although it's a US MNC but not very professional in their employee management - Incapable leadership, the MD is very arrogant and micromanagement obsessive. No checks and balances in the hierarchy, he is responsible for everything even hiring and salary decisions. - Toxic Work-Culture- No acknowledgement of your efforts. difficult to speak out against the system. even MD is a loud and abusive personality. He can shout at anyone publicly of any capacity. No Job Security- They can fire anytime without prior notice and reason. The reason can be as absurd as 10 mins late-coming, faded clothing, or even false allegations. It's up to the MD and his mood, he can hire and fire instantly. Learning- It depends upon your reporting officer. A few of them are good, others are incapable and abusive.

Pros

Nothing positive about company besides being situated in CBD for easy accessibility

Cons

Very high turnover rate - management are into hiring and firing employees, and employees in the company are replaceable. Toxic work environment - A lot of micromanagement, and management is very paranoid about the happening in the office and among employees. No open communication - management do not communicate with employees by giving advance notices on plans and direction for employees to make alternative arrangement. This has cause employees to have no sense of job security. Toxic work environment - very negative work environment, high level of nepotism and a manipulative management.
