Pros

Engaging students and student staff offers them invaluable experience and leadership opportunities, fostering a more supportive and appreciative environment. By involving them in meaningful roles, they gain skills that prepare them for future careers while also making a positive impact on their peers. Despite the toxic culture perpetuated by leadership, those who can look past it have the chance to make a real difference, contributing to a dynamic, motivated team and leaving a lasting impact on students' lives. Working here isn't just a job—it's an opportunity to grow, lead, and truly make a difference, even in the face of challenging circumstances.

Cons

The authoritarian leadership within this organization is not only evident in the way housing is weaponized to intimidate graduate and professional staff but also in the blatant, public displays of power by senior leadership. The Associate VP has been known to resort to yelling at subordinates in front of their peers, using public humiliation as an intimidation tactic. This is not just an isolated incident but part of a broader culture of fear that permeates the entire organization. Such behavior contributes directly to a poor retention rate, as employees, demoralized and disrespected, find themselves with little choice but to leave. The leadership team operates with impunity, shielded by the VP and their associates, who fail to hold anyone accountable. The lack of oversight and a culture of intimidation has created a workplace where exploitation, control, and public shaming are normalized, resulting in an environment that is not just toxic but unsustainable.

The ResLife staff is very hardowrking and willing to work with your schedule to make sure you are being supported and efficient in your work.

Cons

Students sometimes cause issues with the position, but overall many can be handled internally.
